Overview

The Panasonic Industrial Devices EMA0600003B0 Transparent Conductive Film uses proprietary microfabrication technology for EMI shielding for a wide frequency range. It features ultrafine copper wiring inside a PET film substrate with optical clear adhesive (OCA), and comes in a roll of 128 sheets.

High-Transparency Shielding with Optical Clear Adhesive Technology

The EMA0600003B0 transparent conductive film features a PET film substrate. The product is available in roll format, where each roll contains a total length of 72m and 128 sheets. The PET film substrate provides a 53.5µm protective coating to the copper wires enclosed inside the sheets.  On the other side of the wiring is the OCA material, which ensures easy installation of the flexible film. The design allows hardware engineers and technicians to mount the film in space-constrained applications without requiring any additional installation equipment.

The EMA0600003B0 makes it easier to integrate different modules and supports lightweight, flexible electronic applications.

Both sides of the film include a protective film. The transparent technology also reduces optical diffraction while ensuring a wide frequency range of EMI shielding.

Microfabrication for Ultra-Fine Mesh Patterns

The flexible transparent film features an interesting proprietary microfabrication technology from Panasonic. It uses ultrafine copper mesh patterning technology that provides EMI shielding at frequencies up to 40GHz. The mesh pattern reduces visual scatter and provides higher transparency due to the small line width.

The unique pattern offers an advantage in comparison to conventional grid patterns. Each copper line is 2.4µm wide and features an average pitch of 85µm. The sheet offers low resistance of up to 2.6Ω/sq. Thanks to its lightweight design, the EMA0600003B0 simplifies integration, reducing component count and enhancing flexibility in electronic applications.

Wide-Ranging Uses in Electronics Manufacturing

Thanks to its wide-ranging EMI shielding properties, the Panasonic Industrial Devices EMA0600003B0 Transparent Conductive Film has use cases across the general electronics manufacturing industry, including display devices and monitors, industrial machinery, RFID devices, and Wi-Fi anti-interference applications.

It is designed for indoor applications of transparent wave shielding. The conductive film provides a reliable safety shield for systems sensitive to high-frequency. However, it is prone to discoloration and cloudiness if used underwater or exposed to sunlight.

While it offers a reliable range of frequencies for shielding, it’s recommended to add protective circuits to ensure better safety of electronic components, especially where human life or property may be prone to damage.
