Overview

The FibreSeek FibreSeeker 3 is a continuous fibre and thermoplastic extrusion 3D printer that uses Composite Fibre Co-extrusion (CFC) technology. It is the first continuous fibre 3D printer targeted at, and priced for, the consumer market. Using a dual-extruder setup, the printer combines CFC printing of pre-impregnated continuous fibres (carbon fibre or glass fibre) with FFF printing of thermoplastic filament. The hardened steel nozzles can be used together or independently depending on speed and strength requirements.

The printer and its accompanying Rocket Slicer software are designed to accommodate non-experts. The printer is equipped with auto bed leveling, a 5-inch touchscreen, and a 1280*720p live view camera for print monitoring, while the slicer features intuitive printing modes, tool path generation, and an AI assistant for live feedback. Carbon fibre reinforced parts printed on the FibreSeeker 3 have demonstrated a tensile strength of up to 900 MPa.

Features

  • Dual-Extruder Configuration: Reinforcement is applied only where required; the CFC nozzle deposits preimpregnated continuous fibre while the FFF nozzle deposits thermoplastic.

  • Three Print Modes: Users can choose between high speed mode, high strength mode, or hyper strength mode.

  • Modular High-Flow Hotend: A modular three-plate design is configured for simple maintenance and supports temperatures of up to 350°C.

  • Intelligent Heated Chamber: To support layer adhesion and prevent warping, an enclosed heated chamber maintains a stable 65°C temperature using a PTC heater, dual-fan airflow, and full insulation.

  • Technology-Specific Slicer: Rocket Slicer guides users with intelligent fibre placement and infill settings while deploying AI features.

Applications

The FibreSeeker 3 is marketed at non-industrial users such as small engineering firms, startups, designers, studios, and hobbyists. Suitable applications for entry-level continuous fibre 3D printing on the FibreSeeker include drone/UAV frames, robotic joints, tooling such as jigs and fixtures, bike components, sporting goods like tennis racket frames, and medical devices such as custom prosthetics. The printer currently supports carbon fibre or glass fibre reinforcement, with kevlar and basalt materials in development that would support projects with different thermal or impact resistance requirements.
