Overview

The STMicroelectronics X-NUCLEO-ESE02A1 Secure Element Expansion Board is designed for STM32 Nucleo development boards. It’s based on the STSAFE-L010 secure element, allowing smooth prototyping and security applications testing for embedded systems, computer peripherals, and communication systems.

STSAFE-L0101 Standard Evaluation Profile for Seamless Prototyping and Evaluation

The STMicroelectronics X-NUCLEO-ESE02A1 Secure Element Expansion Board features a standard evaluation profile customized with the STSAFE-L010 secure element. It features an Arduino Uno R3 connector, providing a simplified design and easy connectivity with Arduino Uno boards. 

The minimal design makes it a useful option for portable and low-space applications. Thanks to the STSAFE-L010 SoC, the board supports data management and authentication services to the local hosts. Hence, it can help distinguish between wanted and unwanted peripherals for the host, thereby enhancing embedded security across various microcontroller- and IoT-based systems. 

The SoC comes with a non-volatile memory featuring various configurable memory zones and access rights. Hence, memory zones can be given read signals but prevented from modification. The robust design of the STSAFE-L010 SoC helps it prevent damage from environmental conditions.
