Overview

The Infineon Technologies XENSIV™ BGT60CUTR13AIP Connected Sensor Kit is an IoT development platform for evaluating 60GHz radar sensing and connected sensor applications. It integrates the XENSIV BGT60CUTR13AIP CMOS radar sensor with a dual-core, low-power PSoC™ 6 MCU and a Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® combo radio module. The platform supports real-time sensor-data evaluation, embedded processing, and wireless communication within a compact 22.5mm × 63mm × 30mm form factor.

The kit uses an Adafruit Feather-compatible layout and supports interchangeable sensor wings for extending sensing configurations. Battery operation and low-power functionality enable portable, remotely deployed IoT devices. Integration with ModusToolbox™ provides software development resources and code examples for radar-based prototyping. The platform also supports a dedicated cloud demonstration environment for connected evaluation. OPTIGA™ functionality provides secure cloud connectivity and device provisioning. These capabilities support prototype development, field trials, and evaluation of radar sensing across consumer, building, robotics, HVAC, and security applications.

Features of XENSIV™ BGT60CUTR13AIP Connected Sensor Kit

The connected sensor kit combines 60GHz radar sensing, embedded processing, wireless connectivity, and cloud integration. Its modular hardware and software environment supports real-time evaluation, battery-powered development, and rapid IoT prototyping. Let’s go through its features in detail:

60GHz Radar Sensing

The kit integrates the XENSIV BGT60CUTR13AIP CMOS 60GHz radar sensor for developing radar-based sensing functions. Its architecture enables real-time acquisition and evaluation of sensor data during application development. The platform can prototype sensing functions for consumer devices, robotics, building systems, HVAC equipment, and security-related products.

Embedded Processing and Wireless Connectivity

The dual-core, low-power PSoC 6 MCU provides local processing for sensor data and application logic. An integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo radio module adds wireless communication for connected IoT applications. This combination enables local sensor processing and transfer to nearby devices, networks, or cloud-connected services for further evaluation.

Compact and Modular Hardware

The board measures 22.5mm × 63mm × 30mm and uses an Adafruit Feather-compatible form factor for hardware expansion and prototype integration. Interchangeable sensor wings allow developers to modify or extend sensing configurations. The compact architecture supports evaluation in space-constrained prototypes and allows incorporation into field-trial configurations.

Low-Power and Battery Operation

Low-power hardware enables the kit to operate in battery-powered IoT prototypes where continuous external power may not be available. This supports portable, wireless, and remotely positioned sensor systems. Combining radar sensing, local processing, and wireless communication on one development platform also allows power behavior to be evaluated under representative application operating conditions.

Software, Cloud, and Security Integration

The platform integrates with ModusToolbox and includes code examples for developing CMOS radar applications. Real-time sensor evaluation and a dedicated cloud demo platform support connected development workflows. OPTIGA functionality provides secure cloud connections and device provisioning, allowing developers to evaluate security and connectivity alongside sensing, processing, and application software.

Applications

The Infineon Technologies XENSIV™ BGT60CUTR13AIP Connected Sensor Kit supports development of radar-based sensing functions for consumer electronics and connected IoT devices. In robotics, it can prototype environmental and motion-sensing functions. Smart homes and buildings can use the platform to evaluate radar sensing for occupancy-related automation and connected control systems. HVAC development can incorporate radar-derived sensing information into equipment-control prototypes. For security cameras and video doorbells, the kit supports evaluation of radar sensing alongside local processing and wireless connectivity. Its battery operation, cloud connectivity, and compact form factor also support field trials of remotely deployed sensor prototypes.
