Overview

The ADIN1100 is a low-power, single-port Ethernet transceiver designed for industrial applications. Compliant with the IEEE 802.3cg standard, it enables long-reach data transmission over a single pair of wires. This device integrates essential components like an Ethernet PHY core, analog circuitry, and clock buffers, simplifying system design.

It supports various operating modes and power supply options, offering flexibility for different applications. With features like voltage supply monitoring and power-on reset, the ADIN1100 ensures robust performance in challenging industrial environments.

Single-Pair Ethernet (SPE) Capability for High-Speed Data Transmission

The ADIN1100's most significant feature is its support for Single-Pair Ethernet (SPE). This technology allows for high-speed data transmission over a single pair of wires. It supports a cable length of up to 1700 meters with autonegotiations, and contributes to reduced cabling costs and installation complexity.

As compared to traditional Ethernet systems, it offers better cost efficiency. It also uses advanced signal processing techniques, the ADIN1100 can achieve reliable communication over longer distances, making it ideal for industrial automation, building automation, and other applications where wiring is a major challenge.

Low Power Consumption Suited for Modern Applications

The ADIN1100 excels in power efficiency by offering 3.3V and 1.8V single and dual supply. It incorporates power-saving features and optimizing its internal circuitry. This low power consumption enables longer battery life for portable devices and reduces overall system energy consumption.

Additionally, it contributes to lower operating temperatures, enhancing the device's reliability and lifespan. Hence, the ADIN1100 becomes a viable option for long-term deployments in industrial process control. Moreover, it operates in a broad temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees Celsius and for Industrial and up to +105 degrees Celsius for extended applications.

Extensive Integrated Features

The ADIN1100 integrates essential components like an Ethernet PHY core. The PHY core supports 1.0 Vp-p operations and 2.4Vp-p operations as defined by the IEEE 802.3cg standards. It also offers analog circuitry, supply monitoring and power-on-reset which improves system robustness.

This integration simplifies system design by reducing the number of external components required, saving board space, and lowering bill of materials costs. Furthermore, it improves system performance and reliability by optimizing the interaction between different components.

Rapid Evaluation with the EVAL-ADIN1100 Kit

The EVAL-ADIN1100 evaluation kit facilitates the evaluation and prototyping of applications using the ADIN1100 single-pair Ethernet transceiver. It provides a hardware platform with the necessary components and interfaces to connect the ADIN1100 to a host system, allowing engineers to test its performance, explore different operating modes, and develop custom applications.

The kit includes a printed circuit board, connectors, and other auxiliary components, as well as software tools for configuration and data analysis.
