Power management refers to the process of controlling and optimizing the distribution and use of electrical power in a system. It is crucial to ensure that electronic devices operate efficiently, reliably, and within their power specifications. Effective power management reduces energy consumption, minimizes heat generation, extends battery life in portable devices, and ensures that all components receive the correct voltage and current.

This 4-part webinar series, kicking off in early September, is designed to guide engineers from the fundamentals to the cutting-edge of power management. Each session is packed with practical tips and real-world examples to guide your knowledge and set you up for future success. Live circuit simulations with ADI’s power management tool suite will show how to optimize power rail performance and save time on debugging.

These sessions are valuable for all engineers wanting to expand their power management knowledge and use of tools and techniques.

In the first webinar, participants will learn how to kick off a solid power design and understand key design considerations such as parasitics and surge. The session will also tackle transients for a power source that stays within the rails.

Following this, the next sessions will deepen in complexity, covering topics such as how to select the right power converter and comprehensively understanding the ADI Power Management Tool Suite to optimize designs.

Each webinar session is led by Larry Crosby, Principal Engineer of Technical Marketing at Analog Devices.

Larry Crosby has worked in the Electronics industry for over 40 years. His career has taken him to a Professional Audio company, ATE equipment manufacturers, Computer companies and medical devices. He has held positions writing test programs for ATE, and designing analog hardware for all his former employers. Areas of expertise include linear circuits, data converters, low-noise and low-power circuits and a wide variety of power conversion circuits. Since 2006, Larry has worked for Linear Technology as an FAE supporting a wide variety of Broad Market customers, a role he continued after the merger with Analog Devices. Since 2018 he has been doing mentoring for Junior FAEs and creating training programs focused on Power circuits for the FAE community.

Why you should attend:

  • Learn key design considerations for power systems.
