The MultiMo-Bat was developed in a way that results in overall low mass, low volume, and high co-operation between the modes which allows for the preservation of over 80% of the performance of the independent jumping locomotion mode when combined.
The MultiMo-Bat is made of just over 20 different components. Six, relatively basic,
components are CNC machined to allow for the necessary materials; the remaining complex components, are first 3D printed and then replicated in a polyurethane, through soft molding.
Elaborate thesis describing the project, its inspiration, design concepts, and locomotion. Goes into the jumping dynamics, and manufacturing.
