About

Simone Ulmer studied Geology and Palaeontology in Freiburg/Breisgau, Germany. After finishing her studies, she worked at the Hessian Regional Authority for Soil Research in Wiesbaden. Between 2002 and 2007 she was freelance scientific editor for Neue Zürcher Zeitung, focusing on earth and environmental sciences. Simone joined ETH Zurich’s Editorial Office at the end of 2007 and moved to the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS), a sub-organization of ETH Zurich, in 2013. As Editor Science & Technology, she reports, among other things, on research results achieved by users of the CSCS infrastructure with the help of high-performance computers.
