I'm a graduate of Stony Brook University with a Bachelors degree in Journalism. Otherwise, I put foot to pavement, mouth to ear and pen to paper (its all fingers and keyboards, but it doesn't mean I can't get ink-stained now and again). I have written stories on Civil War Reenactors and how modern sensibilities and politics interact with history, the loss of the duck industry on Long Island, the resurgence of small independent bookstores on Long Island, and the problems of public transit riders in the downstate counties.
