The MultiMo Bat is a miniature integrated jumping and gliding robot which is inspired by the locomotion strategy of vampire bats. The robot is capable of high jumping and gliding performances, and can reach heights of over 3 meters.

The MultiMo-Bat was developed in a way that results in overall low mass, low volume, and high co-operation between the modes which allows for the preservation of over 80% of the performance of the independent jumping locomotion mode when combined.

The MultiMo-Bat was developed in a way that results in overall low mass, low volume, and high co-operation between the modes which allows for the preservation of over 80% of the performance of the independent jumping locomotion mode when combined.&nbsp;The MultiMo-Bat is made of just over 20 different components. Six, relatively basic, components are CNC machined to allow for the necessary materials; the remaining complex components, are first 3D printed and then replicated in a polyurethane, through soft molding.
