With an estimated shortage of skilled labor of welders by 2025, the company Vectis Automation, has invented the Vectis Cobot Welding tool to increase welding productivity through automation.

It has a versatile weld productivity tool powered by Universal Robots UR10e collaborative robots and has a mobile 3’ x 6’ footprint for a compact and fully integrated package. It is programmed with an Intuitive DIY technology using Vectis’ “Let’s Weld Together” software interface, with no prior programming experience necessary.

The robot works in a no fixed perimeter guarding which means the operator works alongside the safety rated cobot. An intuitive interface, weld templates, and tutorials are included to ensure a seamless transition of knowledge from the manufacturers to the client. It is delivered ready-to-weld in 4 weeks, and can make the first weld within 10 minutes of plug-in. A technical and responsive support team is present before and after the sale and has over a century of collective robotic welding experience to assist the client.

The video demonstrates the welding process with the increased weld speed, with a consistent top-quality weld that does not need grinding thanks to the Vectis system. The plates with a gap for welding is shown before and after the process with the finished product.
